DHUBRI: Guardian minister of Dhubri, Jayanta Mallabaruah distributed Orunodoi 2.0 scheme cards at a function held here at Raja Prabhat Chandra Barua Field on Thursday.
While addressing the beneficiaries, Baruah said that the financial assistance of Rs 1,250 per month would be paid directly into the bank account of each beneficiary from next month. He also assured that the funds of this scheme would be increased in the future and efforts would be made to include new beneficiaries in the scheme. The scheme covers all the disadvantaged classes, irrespective of caste, religion and race. The scheme is being implemented by the Dhubri District Commissioner, Dibakar Nath.
A total of 18,648 beneficiaries have been covered under Orunodoi 2.0 in the Dhubri district. These include 4,141 beneficiaries from Dhubri Assembly constituency, 3,327 beneficiaries from Gauripur Assembly constituency, 3,569 beneficiaries from Golakganj Assembly constituency, 3,839 beneficiaries from Bilasipara West and East constituencies and 3,772 beneficiaries respectively.
Along with 5,900 beneficiaries of Indira Miri Universal Widow Pension Scheme and 2,669 beneficiaries of Deendayal Disabled Pension Scheme, a total of 8,569 beneficiaries have been covered under the Orunodoi scheme.
The meeting was attended by the chairman of Dhubri Municipal Board, Dr Debamoy Sanyal, former MLA Ashwini Roy Sarkar, Dhubri Gauripur Development Authority Officer Deepak Saha and other dignitaries.
